Synesthesia is a neurological condition in which stimulation of one of the senses leads to automatic, involuntary experiences in a second sense. People who report such experiences are known as synesthetes. There are many ways in which it effects the senses. One, is where letters and numbers appear as specific colours. Also, there is number form synesthesia, where time (days of the week or months in the year) has a precise location in space around the individual. For example, last week may look “further away” than yesterday or the entire year might be perceived as a three dimensional map or clock. Another, is hearing a sound and it creates certain colours or shapes within the minds eye.
